Our menu is designed to move easily from small sharing plates to something more substantial, whether you’re sharing a few dishes or settling in for a full meal.
Start with small plates like the every popular bang bang cauliflower or the new wild boar meatballs, before moving on to favourites from the grill, stylish mains and hand‑stretched pizzas. From burgers and exotic steaks to seasonal dishes and vibrant plant‑based options, there’s something for everyone, including the kids.
Finish with something sweet, from a spiced apple puff or our British cheese board, or simply pair your meal with something from our drinks list, including cocktails, wines, beers and spirits selected to complement the food and including local suppliers.
Each Sunday, you can also choose from our take on a traditional roast, with the option of striploin or beef or chicken supreme, served with all the trimmings.
While our menu is available from, we have a few options for lunch available until 4pm, or you can drop in for cake and a coffee made with beans from local roasters 200 Degrees. Whether you’re stopping by briefly or staying a while, there’s always a reason to visit.

The Engine Room is located on Riverlights Boulevard in the heart of Derby city centre, just metres from the River Derwent and next to the Holiday Inn. We’re surrounded by the buzz of the city, Derbion shops and the convenience of the main bus station, we’re perfectly placed for a relaxed meal, a night out, or a pre-theatre bite to eat.
There’s plenty of local parking available in the area, including at Derbion and NCP Siddals Road.
