Our menus are designed to move easily from lighter plates to something more substantial, whether you’re sharing a few dishes or settling in for a full meal.
Start with small plates like shredded duck gyoza or bang bang cauliflower, ideal for the table, before moving on to favourites from the grill, fresh salads or our hand‑stretched pizzas. From burgers and steaks to seasonal dishes and vibrant plant‑based options, there’s something for everyone, including the kids.
Finish with something sweet, from chocolate brownie to classic Eton mess, or simply pair your meal with something from our drinks list, including cocktails, wines, beers and spirits selected to complement the food and including local suppliers.

The Engine Room is located on Riverlights Boulevard in the heart of Derby city centre, just metres from the River Derwent and next to the Holiday Inn. We’re surrounded by the buzz of the city, Derbion shops and the convenience of the main bus station, we’re perfectly placed for a relaxed meal, a night out, or a pre-theatre bite to eat.
There’s plenty of local parking available in the area, including at Derbion and NCP Siddals Road.
